The current Lawn Fawnatics challenge is to have fun with dies. And, since I love dies, this is the perfect challenge for me. I made three cards for the challenge.
I find Lawn Fawn dies appealing because of how well designed the die sets are -- they fill the sets with accessory dies that can be used with the die set, with other die sets and independently.

My first card is a get well card for a friend of mine. She has been under the weather and I wanted to cheer her up. The cute little elephant from Elphie Selphie is perfect for the card I wanted to create - I wanted Elphie to deliver a tissue. That's the scene on the front of the card. I masked Elphie and inked around her with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink. Then I used the Gift Card pop-up die, cut out of the purple paper from the Gotta Have Gingham 6 x 6 paper pack and tucked a tissue in the gift card slot. The last step was to add a get well sentiment from the Scripty Saying stamp set. I'm hoping she finds this card amusing!
My second card is an Easter card for my Mom. I am going to send it to her through the mail and I wanted to include bunches of flowers, so I used the flowers from the Little Flowers die set and the branch and flowers from the Spring Sprig set. The Scalloped Box Card pop-up was perfect to create a card with a bunch of flowers in it. I made the box out of pink Gina K. cardstock and decorated the box with the multicoloured plaid patterned paper from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Spring 6 x 6 paper pack. The sentiment is from the Happy Everything stamp set.
My third card for the challenge is an Easter card for my Dad. He likes receiving a handmade card and, like my Mom, truly appreciates the work that goes into a card. I've been dying to use the new Pivot pop-up card die, so this was my chance.
The front of the card is covered with blue paper from the Gotta Have Gingham 6 x 6 paper pad and I used a green plaid paper from the Perfectly Plaid Spring 6 x 6 paper collection. The chick and egg dies are from the Happy Hatchling die set (I love that I can crack and egg and make no mess!) and the sentiment is from the Happy Everything stamp set. I decorated the panel of the pop up with the same die set and accessory dies from the Pivot pop-up die set. The inside of the card is covered with the Quilted Backdrop. I used scrap paper from my stash to die cut the chicks, the eggs and the backdrops. I added a piece of white cardstock, cut with a Stitched Rectangle Stackable, to write on.
The card bases are all Neenah Solar White cardstock, 80lb.
OMG - I love the explosion box! I've only made one, ever and got frustrated when it didn't fold right the first time! (card-maker error). Once I realized what I had done wrong, it was fine and turned out cute! This one is adorable. I also love the pivot card! I really want to add that to my collection! I love how it works! Bet your Dad loved it! Fantastic work, Ashlyn!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these cards! They are so clever! The elephant card is adorable and the chick card is so cute, I love how you used the patterned paper.
